Beard Styles

Why?!?! Why grow a beard? A better question would be WHY NOT!?!? There are an infinite number of reasons to grow and groom facial hair. Normally I wouldn't waste time addressing such a short-sighted question, but I will since our society has shifted from a "Why Not?" mentality to a "Why?" mentality. Here are a few reasons for having a beard and/or mustache style.

It's Manly - a well suited beard or mustache style automatically adds 10 units of testerone to any man. Of course there are exceptions to this (ie. girly men can grow girly facial hair and look like idiots) and I will elaborate more on this in the Beard Styles section.

Women Can't Do It - it's a little more than ironic that God gave us facial hair and not women. It's a natural way of distinguishing ourselves as men.

It Just Plain Feels Good - having a nice beard style or mustache style gives you the wonderful opportunity to be able to pet and stroke it throughout the day. It's amazingly enjoyable and relaxing to touch one's face and feel a nice thick beard.

Change of Appearance - using your gift of growing facial hair gives you a refreshing way to try a new look. Changing hairstyles is for women, men should never dye there hair or do anything unnatural (ie. anything besides the occasional standard hair cut), we have facial hair to explore with.

Look Better - when you dive into the world of Beard Styles you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that among the benefits are a better and more handsome you. Of course you need to pick the right style(s) that fit you (see Beard Styles section) and be diligent in their upkeep.

Shaving Sucks - I've never known a man who would say that they enjoy shaving and if they did I'd call them a cheat and a liar. One of the strongest principles of Manhood is Efficiency, what better way to be efficient then by reducing the area you need to shave. With a nice beard or mustache style you're bathroom time will be cut down greatly. I'll go over proper maintenance in the Grooming Tips section.

Look Older - by "older" I mean more mature and respect worthy. Nothing makes a man look more dignified and mature like a well groomed beard. Older wiser men will look on you with an extra dose of respect and invite you into the Den of Old Men for whiskey, cigars and Manly banter.

Courage - growing a fine beard or mustache in our culture takes courage and strength of will. By going against the norm and enduring ridicule and strange looks during the growing process you show the strength and depth of your Manhood.
